ACL Bearings

ACL is a brand known for producing high-quality engine bearings and related automotive components. They are widely used in the automotive industry, particularly in high-performance and racing applications.  Each bearing is manufactured to exacting tolerances to ensure a perfect fit and optimal performance in the engine, they are designed to provide a long service life.  ACL offer oil pumps and engine bearings, including main crankshaft bearings, rod bearings and thrust washers.

ACL Race Series performance engine bearings are identified from the standard range by the following suffixes (these letter code appears before the -STD in the part number in some part number)

H = ACL Race Series

HX = ACL Race Series with 0.025mm (0.001”) extra clearance

HD = ACL Race Series with location dowel holes.*

HXD = ACL Race Series with 0.025mm (0.001”) extra clearance and location dowel holes.*

*Connecting rod bearing applications only

ACL H bearings are Race Series Bearings. You will see the letter "H" after the numbers within the part number.

HX bearings offer additional oil clearance, they are usually used for high performance applications that requires extra clearance.

The wall size of these HX-STD bearings is .0005”
(.013mm) thinner than the H-STD Bearings

It is common practice to adjust oil clearances by using different bearing sizes of adjacent grades, ie H-STD and HX-STD.

The maximum difference between shells should be no more than .0005”/.013mm. The thicker wall size bearing should be fitted in the most heavily loaded position.
